Only thing I didnt like about Repentence was they said they were going to buff a bunch of garbage items but basically didnt do that and instead nerfed a bunch of items like crazy because the small percentage of the playerbase who is always looking for the extra challenge was listened to instead of the majority playerbase. Luckily on PC theres a workshop mod to undo all the nerfs I like to use but it would have been nice to just have it as an option. At the end of the day its a single player game, who cares how OP your run was, aslong as youre having fun.

I was originally annoyed and fairly baffled about a lot of the balance changes to the items and such but after playing a lot more I honestly really like most of them. The shop changes are still dogshit generally, but I feel like the game is a far more consistent experience now, and I really like that. There are very few really broken items that carry a run on their own, and it’s led to more focus on synergies, having fewer spikes and dips in the experience of playing different runs, and a heavier focus on items that change the feel and play style rather than just stacking bonuses and multipliers. Especially with more items generally available on average, through means like the alt path, you have more choice and freedom in items and get more of them, making runs that are fun even if you aren’t stupidly broken or crashing your game every time you hit the fire button

Man watching this video really just makes me want to do a mind series/lets rolepay video. I always wanted to try and make one. I even have made a couple of them in the past, but later took them down. They were just awful. Like really bad. I made a cod zombie one that had the character die at the end. But made a trailer for a season 2 where it got teleported to other cod zombies modes. It was filmed on my phone pointing it to the tv. I tried doing a RE5 mind series which made no sense because Chris can talk. They were bad. But maybe I will try my hand at doing it again. The mind series have always been so close to me. I watched so many videos and tried to look for so many more. I eternally found out about the let’s roleplay community. Which are similar to mind series but are more unscripted and improved. I loved this video. It was kinda nostalgic. Man so many good memories.

I like PSTL's "what if chell talked in portal" vids, it may not be "chell's mind" exactly, but its a very good alternative that actually finished both portal 1 and 2.

I actually have to disagree. I got drunk the other night and put freemans mind on my second monitor as i played a game. And i payed more attention than usual. Freeman was absolutely a malicious asshole in the beginning. Sure, he didnt shoot people first, but he made very cavalier threats to kill people, rob everyone, steal from his job and "bomb the place". And more than once he even alluded to having murdered people before It made me realize that what i too thought was his "decent into madness", was really more a shearing away of his facade. A "mask off" type situation where he stopped pretending in the face of the most stressful experience of his life. Freeman was always crazy The Black Mesa incident just made him more transparent lol

This game really sucks. I don't know why ppl always say it's a gem and it's a time when video games took chances. Like huh? Ok, so then those ppl just have bad taste. Finally someone echoes my thoughts on Interloper's climb. (And the Citadel in HL2). This tower is supposed to be kilometres tall and Interloper made me god damn feel it whereas the Citadel feels like an IRL skyscraper at best.

Y'know, when I played the Xen chapter, I actually forgot that Black Mesa is a game that took place in a research facility. I guess that's what happen when the Xen chapter is extended to 4 hours gameplay.
